Nainital, Rishikesh or Mussoorie: which Uttarakhand trip from Delhi?
By the Trip Le team · Package facts from our published itineraries
The short answer
Haridwar – Rishikesh and Dehradun – Mussoorie leave Delhi early on Day 1 and return on Day 3, so each takes three calendar days and starts from ₹5,499 per person. Nainital with Kainchi Dham and Jim Corbett is longer — 5 calendar days with an overnight journey — and starts from ₹8,999.

Haridwar – Rishikesh: aarti, ghats and a riverside camp
- Day 1: Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri — arrive early for a viewing spot; it is very crowded on festivals and weekends.
- Day 2: Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula, the Beatles Ashram (entry ticket extra), then a night at a riverside camp.
- Rafting: the base trip does not include it. The rafting option (₹6,499 per person) adds the 16 km Shivpuri stretch on Day 3; it is not run during the monsoon closure (usually July to mid-September) and has a minimum age of 14.
- Haridwar and Rishikesh are vegetarian, alcohol-free zones.
Dehradun – Mussoorie: the hill-station weekend
- Mall Road and Camel's Back Road on arrival, Kempty Falls and Landour's Lal Tibba viewpoint on Day 2, and Dhanaulti on the way back.
- Travels by AC tempo traveller; the drive from Delhi is about 281–290 km (6–7 hours).
- Weekend traffic into Mussoorie is heavy, so the Day 3 return time varies.
- Light snowfall is possible from late December to February, but not guaranteed, and snow can close the Dhanaulti road.
Nainital, Kainchi Dham and Jim Corbett: the longer trip
Choose this if Kainchi Dham or a Corbett safari is the reason for the trip. It spends two nights in Nainital and one near Corbett. The full plan is in the Nainital, Kainchi Dham and Corbett itinerary.
